Excercise and the weekend off

Published by relaxedwriter at 10:36 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I was forced to take the weekend off as far as writing goes because we had a family emergency. I am the first person to admit that the real world can cause you to skip a day or two at the computer or the notebook which ever method you use. But I am the first to also admit that once you’ve taken those first days off it is really hard to get back into the swing of writing. That’s why I said in my last post that writing really needs to be a daily thing.

Writing is a form of exercise for the brain, when was the last time you really craved exercise? Be completely honest no one wants to excersise. If you do it it’s because you need to. And developing an excersise schedule is healthy for you. Because you have a schedule your very aware of missing the workout. Hopefully this makes you less likely to skip your workouts.

Workout lovers claim that during a work out they can slip into a workout bliss zone. At least that’s the rumor. In my opinion that was a myth created by doctors to sell gym memberships. I do know that daily writing does help me to relax and wind down. I get very relaxed when I write hence the name relaxed writer. It’s also what I believe happens when I write. Again that is why I named the blog relax and write.

Once you relax about writing and just do it you’ll find yourself starting to tell stories. Write what comes. Don’t try to make sense of it just go with what flows. We’ll talk about flow tomorrow .
